9 DAILY HABITS TO HELP WITH HAPPINESS

9 DAILY HABITS TO HELP WITH HAPPINESS
Do you have those days where it feels like the day starts off great, then trips and crashes? I think we are all a little guilty of emotions and stress taking the lead some days.
There are some great tools and habits that can help us feel happier, more energised and be better prepared to take on life's challenges. Don't tell yourself you are too busy, if you are reading this, then you are needing this.

BREATHWORK

Whether you do one minute or ten it helps to ground and be in the moment. I recently did an hour long breathwork session and it was magic. I walked out feeling a real buzz. Check out Wim Hoff - he knows what's up. Here is a Wim video that you can do in 30 seconds or 11 mins.

WRITE IT DOWN

Even if it's as simple as noting how you're feeling at that moment—you'll feel better if you write it down and let it go in the morning. I have an email folder and simply send a quick email to myself. To let go, you have to allow it in.

WALKING

Just a quick one around the block will do—just get your body moving and taking in all those outside elements that are good for the soul. Take in those trees, birds, sunshine or the beach.

RAYS ARE SO HELPFUL FOR HAPPINESS

Standing in the sun, natural light has many more benefits to your body than artificial light does, so take advantage of Vitamin D whenever you can! Same goes for if you are feeling flat during the day, head outside and get those sun rays over you.

FREEZING COLD SHOWERS

Sounds crazy and stay with me, there are great benefits to cold showers (plus they help wake you up!) Once you get through the initial feeling and when you get out YOU.WILL.VIBE.

ANCOR DOWN

AKA grounding, this is a really important one. Touching, smelling and listening when going about your day, it avoids auto pilot.
When you wake up, try taking in all your senses. Look around the room, touch your sheets, listen to the sounds around you. You'd be amazed how much better you feel when you don't zone out through your morning commute too! Here is a great resource to get you started.

DON'T HIT SNOOZE

Snoozing your alarm is not allowed! It actually makes you feel worse and what for an extra 15 minutes sleep? As soon as you hear your alarm, get up and turn a light on or open the blinds (natural light is best!) The leads nicely into the next step..

NO DEVICES IN THE BEDROOM

No mobile phones in your bedroom. Put them in flight mode and charge them overnight in the kitchen if you need to use them as an alarm in the morning. Its too tempting to check your phone when its right there and screen time before bed is not helpful.

WHAT ARE YOU GRATEFUL FOR?

At the end of each day and away from devices list 3 things (in your head is ok) that you are grateful for, from that day. It can be as simple as 'I ate my lunch in the park' or 'I caught up with xx for coffee & a chat'
This step is really important as it shifts your mindset in highlighting the positives in your day.
You can see it doesn't have to be big and time challenging steps to help with happiness, its really about being in the moment and enjoying the simple things that make up our days.
Take a few moments each day to create habits that can lead to you feeling more content and fulfilled. So switch off auto pilot and start anchoring yourself in the now!
P.S -If you like reading or listening to audio books, The Power Of Habit is a great book to add to your list, it can be life changing.
